FAQs:
Can you introduce yourself briefly?
I love capturing special moments with my camera – whether it’s an emotional wedding, a stylish fashion shoot, or a lively event. With an eye for detail, I capture images that tell stories and preserve memories forever.
Can you remember your first photo? What was it?
For a school project, when I was just 15 years old, I photographed the Nord/LB in Hanover – an architectural masterpiece of glass and steel. I was fascinated by how light and perspective constantly transformed the building. That moment sparked my passion for playing with light and shadow in combination with photographic perspectives.
How did you get into photography?
It started in school, then through my numerous travels to exotic countries, and eventually due to my (dancing) work in front of the camera.
When are you satisfied with your work?
I’m satisfied when my photos impress the viewer and leave a lasting impression in their memory.
When is the right time to contact a photographer?
The ideal time to contact a photographer is 6 to 12 months before major events like weddings. For smaller shoots, a few weeks can often be enough. The earlier, the better, to ensure perfect planning and availability.
What, in your opinion, makes a good photo?
The choice of perspective is crucial to highlight the aesthetics of a subject and enhance its impact. Through deliberate angles, one can emphasize forms, structures, and lighting moods that might otherwise go unnoticed. At the same time, it’s about capturing not just the image, but also the feeling of a moment – the atmosphere, the movement, the interplay of light and shadow. This way, the moment is not only preserved but made experienceable.
What do you enjoy most about professional photography?
I appreciate the variety and uniqueness of each workday, as they allow me to constantly learn and broaden my horizons.
What makes the genre you specialize in so special?
Every encounter, every emotion, and every detail tells its own story. Capturing these moments while expanding my perspective with new experiences makes my work so unique.
What details can only a professional photographer see?
A professional photographer notices details that make a photo stand out – from light and reflections to perfect perspectives and subtle nuances in expression and movement. These details create the difference between a good photo and an exceptional one.
How do you continue your education?
I continue my education through the use of social media and workshops, and I also enjoy exchanging ideas with like-minded individuals.
What would you like to express with your photos?
Through my work, I primarily want to express my passion for art and the aesthetics of life. Every moment is unique and beautiful in its own way. Photography gives me the opportunity to capture these moments and make them tangible for others.
What equipment do you prefer to use when photographing?
I really enjoy shooting with an open aperture using my Sony A7R4, and I use various Sigma lenses that cover different focal lengths.
How important is technology when photographing?
Mastering the technical aspects is essential in order to use the camera as a proper tool.
What did you do to get your first photo assignments?
Since I had already built a portfolio through my hobby work over the years, I was able to get recommendations based on that.
What is the importance of digital post-processing for you?
I base the importance of post-processing on the type of shot. A well-lit image often requires little to no editing, while in fashion photography, image retouching is indispensable.
What tips would you give an amateur photographer to take better photos?
I recommend experimenting with different subjects and growing through that process, pushing yourself to expand your skills.
